Data Concepts assists clients in developing an IT Strategy to achieve their business, technological and/or
organizational objectives. At Data Concepts, we put a lot of weight and value on the word ‘Strategy’. For Data
Concepts, this word is no industry buzzword or management jargon to be flaunted around but rather a sacred mantra
that our company breathes and lives by.
IT Strategy needs differ from customer to customer. The scope, objective, and context of the Strategy that an
organization needs is dependent on the needs of the customer.
Subject Matters of IT Strategy
Data Concepts will develop a Strategy that will be a product of an analysis of the customer’s needs and objectives;
a study and review of the current customer IT environment and processes; and propose a roadmap outlined by Data
Concepts for the customer to attain its objectives.
Key areas that Data Concepts has assisted clients in developing an IT strategy:
... Our analysis is thorough, we do not sugar coat or mask the effort and commitment that would be required for each option proposed;
and we enable the client to make an informed decision on pursuing a particular strategy ...

Our Approach for developing an IT Strategy
IT Strategy enables the effectiveness of an IT Organization within an enterprise. There are organizations without a clearly
articulated IT Strategy. On the other extreme, there are those that have reams of paper on their IT Strategy – down
to detailed calculations of IT ROI for each initiative.
At Data Concepts, we believe that there really is no template for a strategy. It is really a client-by-client
context. At Data Concepts, we focus on the following framework:
- Understand business goals & objectives, requirements (what is the problem and what does the client want us to do)
- Understand and document current state (where is the client today)
- Define the future state (where the client should be/should do to meet goals and objectives)
- Define gaps (what the client needs to do to get from where it is today to where it should be)
- Layout a roadmap (how to get from the current state to the future state)
- Address the following along the lines of schedule, budget and resources:
We attempt to layout the roadmap in increments or phases depending on the scope and nature of the objectives. As part of
the strategy, Data Concepts may propose a statement of work for the execution of the next phase (initial increment).
