When it comes to technology architecture, Data Concepts has a simple but extremely powerful philosophy
that guides our engagements and keeps us on track to deliver results.
We believe the best technology approach to a company's business problem is a well-architected solution.
Our definition of that solution comprises three components:
- The System Blueprint – the basis for all project initiatives
- The Integration Model – defining flexible patterns of integration across all assets
-
The Transformation Process – positioning systems to evolve together with business requirements
(with the goal of an evolutionary cycle where positive change is expected and supported)
Data Concepts follows a "Business, User, System" philosophy to collaborate with your key stakeholders
and pinpoint the architectural principles that will help your organization move toward its strategic goals.
The tenets of our philosophy are:
Business dimension: A solution must be architected for the company’s business context. Although
initial requirements may be frozen, business needs are always changing and a solution must be able to flex
or it will become obsolete as soon as it is deployed.
User dimension: An architected solution includes ample input from its users. Solutions developed
without user input cause alienation and can quickly become shelfware.
System dimension: A solution has to exchange data with other systems, rely on other systems’
functionality, and be deployed, monitored, and managed within the existing technical infrastructure.
When architected from this standpoint, a solution will be scalable, open, and can accommodate rapid
application development and new functionality.
